About TIGER TIGER:

Established in 2022, the Year of the Tiger, TIGER TIGER is a Portland-based event created to promote AAPI joy and nurture healing in our communities.

TIGER TIGER is a gathering of AAPI musicians, creatives, and organizations; a sharing of diverse AAPI stories, expressions, and backgrounds to build a stronger sense of community identity. Inspired by the healing power of music, TIGER TIGER aspires to provide a space to listen to the vibrations and experiences of AAPI community members.

TIGER TIGER aims to create a place of healing from the harm experienced by AAPI people from racial bias, including AAPI hate during the Covid-19 pandemic, Japanese-American Wartime Incarceration in Oregon, and the enduring legacies of colonialism worldwide.

TIGER TIGER is a not-for-profit event funded by the City of Portland’s Community Healing Arts Initiative, Portland Parks & Recreation, APANO, Korean American Coalition, Chinese American Citizens' Alliance, Japanese American Citizens League, Portland Chinatown Museum, Utopia PDX, and fueled by the volunteerism of local AAPI Creatives and Organizers.
